The subject cowboy in this painting is from a black and white photo of my Grandfather, Charles (Charlie) Jacob Watson, taken in 1888 in Southeastern Colorado near Holly, Colorado.  I think the horse’s name was “Bob”!  Other images are from various photos or memories I’ve collected.
